Arrived at Taize, via small bus at 1645. We are divided due to age. <30 are together and >30 are in room 263, with one other woman. Sue and Clay have there own dorm, as they are married.
We had vegetable couscous for supper, with bread, cheese yogurt, cookies and an apple.
I'm working in the infirmary all week from 0930-1000. I'm working with one of the sisters and a nurse from the USA. We get our other job assignments tomorrow.
Evening prayer was at 2030. It was over 1-1/2 hrs of prayer and chanting. Chants are in other languages.
After prayers, we met for drinks at the lounge area. I had hot chocolate and soup. It was quite cold out, so we didn't stay long.
It's just like camping, in that we share bathrooms. There is a bath house. Makes for a cold night pee; glad I'm not on the top bunk.
